Sacred Moment(s)

A colored pencil drawing I did of my sister-in-law and her child

Is there one time specific in the illusion of time so sacred above all others?

Sacredness is the stillness and presence in the moment

And in the knowing of the blessing that is being bestowed

How many moments slip away

Because we don’t immerse ourselves in what IS

I held my newborn child to my breast and rested in unconditional love

Moments of such love cannot be erased by a clock ticking

They stand on their own, separate from time, separate from space

A rainbow of colors merging into the whiteness of infinitude

I am thankful for each moment in which I’m truly present
