Zoo Trip on a Rainy Day

Today is a gloomy, rainy day, possibly what brought up memories of another gloomy, rainy day a couple of years ago.  We took a trip to the Cincinnati Zoo on my husband’s birthday.  Because of the weather we practically had the whole zoo to ourselves.  I’m thankful for the color on a rainy day.

  1. I love super-quiet days at the zoo! Our best days at the San Francisco Zoo were foggy, cold days – the tourists scatter and the animals are frisky. Great memories of that zoo. Thank you for stopping by my blog back2theland.blogspot.com — You have beautiful pictures here. I’m off to go read more! Thank you, Bonnie

  2. I love going to the zoo! I could sit and watch the animals for hours – they are amazing! Alot of the animals you don’t get to see in your own backyard like a giraffe or mountain lion plus the childhood memories can never be forgotten. We would parade down the pathways singing “lions and tigers and bears oh my” at the top of our lungs!

  3. I grew up with a family pass to the Denver Zoo. Every single weekend we’d picnic there and when there was snow on the ground the animals really were frisky as Bonnie said! My aunt volunteered there and sometimes we’d see her mucking out the gazelles or some other cool animal. Thanks for the fun memories!
